The Hudson River Valley Art Workshops has been providing highly regarded fine art workshops for painters since 1982, hosting 20 or more workshops per year. These art workshops are presented by top professional instructors in watercolor, oil, pastel, acrylics, and collage.

The workshops are held in our Carriage House Art Studio, part of the Greenville Arms 1889 Inn. This all-in-one environment allows artist to come learn, create, and enjoy the camaraderie of their fellow artist. The Art Studio is open 24-hours and all meals are served in the Inn dining rooms. Plus students get to stay in one of our comfortable and elegant guest rooms.

The really exciting news for me and other art quilters is that starting in 2006, the Hudson River Valley Art Workshops is introducing art workshops for fiber artists. We have already lined up world-class instructors, such as Melody Johnson, Laura Cater-Woods, Lesley Riley, B.J. Adams, Natalie Sewell, Esterita Austin, Paula Nadelstern, Jane Sassaman, and more.

Photo Display in a Fiber Art Frame

When a good friend of mine asked me to create an art quilt featuring photos of her pets, my first idea was to print photos on fabric and then incorporate this into an art quilt. However, midway into the project my friend suddenly added a new pet into her household!

So I came up with the idea to create an art quilt with cutouts and pockets so that the photo display could be changed as often as desired.
